Skylight:
1950s cabin addition + chain saw

existed for three days before complete demolition


This project was completed to honor a cabin that served its use. The northern part of the cabin was built as an ealry mining cabin durring the gold rush in colorado and the lower level additon as an attached workshop. The pine on dirt foundation became harshly compormised leading the owners to demolish it in place of a new shared lodge. Bits of the cabin were salvaged to be reused in the new build including the worn pine floorboards and some od the cedar shakes. 

Inspierd by gordon matta-clark’s work, i wanted to investagate the process of selective demolition. Once cut, the beam of light that filled the space completly changed the dynamic. What was once a
